On Wednesday night, 4-star forward Deng Ngor listed a final four in his recruitment. Duke was included in that quartet of finalists. There's only one problem with that: Jon Scheyer hasn't even offered him yet.
Duke was listed as a finalist alongside Florida, Ohio State, and Washington, all of which have listed offers to Ngor on his 247 profile. Duke sticks out like a sore thumb, however, because Scheyer hasn't given him an official offer yet. That's not to say that Duke hasn't expressed interest in him. They have. But the Blue Devils are stingy with their offers and are still evaluating the 4-star forward:

Duke is in contention for 4-star Deng Ngor without offering him yet
It should tell you all you need to know about what Ngor thinks of Duke, that he would have them as a finalist without any assurances that the offer from the Blue Devils is ever going to come.
Scheyer is still evaluating Ngor, and an upcoming visit to Durham could be the ultimate decider on whether or not that offer is extended. Ngor will visit Durham on October 15th. It's the fourth of his four visits set up. He'll see Ohio State on 9/5, Washington on 9/18, and Florida on 9/22.
Ngor is an intriguing prospect. He may be a bit underrated at No. 80 in the composite rankings, with both Todd Golden and Scheyer showing interest.
Ngor is from Canada and upped his profile with a strong performance in FIBA this summer, where he helped his team get to the Gold Medal game for the U18 tournament. He shot 38% from three-point range, which is a good indicator that his shot is coming around. He's a superb athlete, and if the shooting improvement is real, then he's a versatile, athletic forward with three-and-D capabilities that would not only make him a sought-after college prospect, but also garner him a lot of attention in NBA circles as a prospect, too.
Ngor played on Team Canada with Duke incoming freshman center Maxime Meyer, and that relationship could benefit the Blue Devils if they decide to offer and make a serious push for the Ontario native.
Right now, Scheyer has extended six offers in the 2027 class: Beckham Black, Adan Diggs, AJ Williams, Lewis Uvwo, Kager Knueppel (committed), and Asa Montgomery, who picked up an offer on Wednesday night.
It would seem that Ngor is a backup option for the Blue Devils if they swing and miss on one of, if not both of their wing options alongside Kneuppel: Williams and Montgomery.
A lot can change in the coming months, but if Scheyer ultimately decides to put the full court press on Ngor, then you have to like where Duke sits in his recruitment, considering they made his final grouping before even offering him.
