The Duke Football team’s bowl aspirations are out the window as the Blue Devils suffered yet another embarrassing loss on Saturday afternoon.

On Saturday afternoon, the Duke Football team lost its fourth straight game and its fifth in the past six games.

The Blue Devils were embarrassed once again, this time at the hands of the Syracuse Orange, who before Saturday, had not won an ACC game this season.

Syracuse defeated Duke 49-6, which marked the Blue Devils’ fourth loss by at least 30 points this season and its second straight after falling to then No. 15 Notre Dame 38-7 last week.

Duke also lost to then No. 2 Alabama and Virginia by over 30 points this season.

After starting the season 3-1, Duke has fallen off the deep end and any dream of reaching a bowl game seems to be out the window, needing two wins with two games left on the season, facing Wake Forest and Miami (FL).

The game against Wake Forest is on the road while the finale against the Hurricanes will be at Wallace Wade Stadium.

Since the second half of the victory over Georgia Tech back on October 12, Duke has only accounted for five touchdowns in 18 quarters.

If you are knew to the sport of football or don’t know very much, that isn’t very good.

Also, during the four game losing streak, Duke has been outscored 155-46.

To further the point, Duke allowed over 46 points, the total number of points it has scored in the past four games, twice in this losing streak, 48 points in the loss to Virginia and 49 points in the loss to Syracuse.

Duke was a name college football fans would normally see in the weekly bowl projections by ESPN college football analysts Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach, but in the last two weekly projections neither analyst has included the Blue Devils, and rightly so.

Two more games remain for Duke this season and the Blue Devils need to win out to reach the postseason starting on Saturday, November 23 on the road against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
