Vernon Carey Jr. has played only one game for his new team since moving from the Charlotte Hornets to the Washington Wizards due to an early-February trade. Between his time with the Hornets and Wizards this season, the former Duke basketball one-and-done has seen the court only five times, drawing one start along the way.

The 20-year-old Carey, now in his second year as a pro after going No. 32 overall at the 2020 NBA Draft, is putting up the following season averages and percentages:

  • 1.6 points per game
  • 1.0 rebounds per game
  • 0.0 assists per game
  • 0.2 steals per game
  • 0.0 blocks per game
  • 50.0 percent from the field
  • 0-for-0 beyond the arc
  • 66.7 percent from the charity stripe

Vernon Carey Jr. and the Washington Wizards (27-31), now No. 11 in the Eastern Conference standings, return from the All-Star break at 7 p.m. ET Friday when they host the San Antonio Spurs (23-36).
