DEFENSIVE VERSATILITY

The offensive game of Wendell Moore is still coming along, but his defense is already elite. The 6-foot-5 small forward is by far Duke’s most versatile defensive player. Last season, we saw him defend all five positions at some point.

When opposing teams went small, he was forced to guard smaller guards, and he more than held his own. In the infamous game on the road at North Carolina where Moore had the game-winning tip-in, he was guarding UNC center Garrison Brooks for the last couple minutes of regulation and into overtime. Moore was actually able to limit Brooks more than Duke’s bigs were.

Moore has a nearly 7-foot wingspan and high-level lateral quickness. That unique combination allows him to defend multiple positions and be a jack of all trades on the defensive end.

Speaking of skilled defenders…
