Duke basketball’s sweetest shooters in the NBA bubble: Jayson Tatum

6-8, 205. Forward. 4. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 18. Jayson Tatum

Career, season, and bubble 3-point percentages: 40.0, 40.0, 43.8

Career, season, and bubble FG percentages: 45.6, 44.7, 43.4

Career, season, and bubble FT percentages: 82.7, 80.8, 82.6

Shooting stroke purity (10-point scale): 9.4

Again, the placement of Jayson Tatum here at No. 4 is not to imply in any way that there are three better Duke basketball players in the league right now. There aren’t. No doubt about that. And it’s understood that the St. Louis product is a better creator than all three guys to come on this list; it’s just that the probable future MVP candidate’s shot is simply a smidge less accurate. All that aside, his stroke hasn’t looked too shabby in the bubble as he’s twice tallied five 3-pointers in a game.

The 22-year-old Tatum and the 46-23 Boston Celtics, No. 3 in the Eastern Conference standings, are 3-2 since the restart and have three games remaining in their regular season: against the Orlando Magic on Sunday at 5 p.m., against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday at 5 p.m., and against the Washington Wizards on Thursday (TV and tipoff time to be announced).
