Duke basketball: Top seven Blue Devil sharpshooters in NBA bubble
By Matt Giles
Duke basketball’s sweetest shooters in the NBA bubble: Brandon Ingram
Career, season, and bubble 3-point percentages: 35.9, 38.9, 42.3
Career, season, and bubble FG percentages: 45.9, 46.3, 42.1
Career, season, and bubble FT percentages: 72.2, 85.2, 79.4
Shooting stroke purity (10-point scale): 9.3
If this ranking was of all Duke basketball players in the bubble, then Brandon Ingram and the next Blue Devil on this list would sit right near the top. But when it comes down to just shooting alone — while often brilliant pieces to the repertoires of both All-Star forwards — there are three who do it better. Nevertheless, Ingram has definitely been deadly at times in Orlando, knocking down 11 of his 26 attempts from long range and averaging 20.4 points via his high-volume trigger.
The 22-year-old Ingram and the 30-39 New Orleans Pelicans, No. 11 in the Western Conference standings, are 2-3 since the restart and have three games remaining in their regular season: against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday at 3 p.m. (ABC), against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday at 9 p.m. (TNT), and against the Orlando Magic on Thursday (TV and tipoff time to be announced).
