Projected ACC standings from a Duke basketball buff: No. 14 Boston College

THE HEAD COACH:

Jim Christian is 317-273 across 18 seasons as a head coach, 75-119 across six seasons at Boston College, and 25-85 against the ACC during the regular season.

THE KEY PLAYERS:

  • Sophomore guard Jay Heath: averaged 13.1 points and 3.4 rebounds last season
  • Sophomore forward CJ Felder: averaged 5.6 points and 3.9 rebounds last season
  • Senior forward Steffon Mitchell: averaged 7.8 points and 8.7 rebounds last season
  • Graduate transfer guard Rich Kelly: averaged 16.7 points last season at Quinnipiac
  • Graduate transfer center James Karnik: averaged 12.2 points last season at Lehigh

THE STORYLINE:

Four of the top six scorers from last season’s team are no longer around. And the replacements consist of three so-so transfers plus two recruits, neither of whom ranks inside the top 100 on the 247Sports 2020 Composite. In other words, the lack of stars and the abundance of no-names don’t bode well for Boston College’s chances of winning more than a handful of ACC games.
