Scouting Report. Last season: 6-14 (T-13th). WAKE FOREST DEMON DEACONS. 448. Pick Analysis. Predicted: 2-18. 15. player

Projected ACC standings from a Duke basketball buff: No. 15 Wake Forest

THE HEAD COACH:

Steve Forbes is 130-43 across five seasons as an NCAA head coach and is entering his first season at Wake Forest.

THE KEY PLAYERS:

  • Sophomore guard Jahcobi Neath: averaged 5.3 points and 2.2 assists last season
  • Sophomore forward Ody Oguama: averaged 2.9 points and 3.9 rebounds last season
  • Junior forward Isaiah Mucius: averaged 7.3 points and 4.7 rebounds last season
  • Graduate transfer guard Ian Dubose: averaged 19.0 at Houston Baptist last season
  • Graduate transfer guard Jonah Antonio: averaged 6.9 points at UNLV last season

THE STORYLINE:

Though Wake Forest may now have a better head coach in place after letting go of Danny Manning, the talent will take at least a year to catch up. Gone are the top four players from last season. Absent are any potential stars for next season. Keep in mind that a fundamental reason for graduate transfer Ian Dubose averaging 19.0 points last season was his being on a 4-25 Houston Baptist squad that played at a breakneck pace.
