Duke Blue Devils slip in ESPN Bowl Game projections after loss to Pitt

The Duke Football team slipped in the ESPN bowl game predictions after its loss to Pittsburgh over the weekend.

After a heart-breaking loss to the Pittsburgh Panthers over the weekend, the Duke Blue Devils dropped in the ESPN Post-Week 6 bowl game predictions.

The Blue Devils rallied from a 26-3 deficit to take the lead over the Panthers late in the fourth quarter, all to have that work erased after allowing a last drive touchdown by Pittsburgh to lose the game, 33-30.

Duke dropped to 3-2 on the season with wins over North Carolina A&T, Middle Tennessee State, and the Virginia Tech Hokies, with losses to then No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide and the Pittsburgh Panthers.

Throughout the season, ESPN college football analysts Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach have been updating their bowl game projections weekly and on one analyst eyes, the Blue Devils took a step back with the loss.

For the past three weeks, Kyle Bonagura has the Blue Devils playing in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl on December 31 at 2:00pm EST on CBS, and for the second straight week as has Duke playing the University of Southern California.

The Sun Bowl is played at the Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas.

Mark Schlabach had the Blue Devils in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl last week, but after the loss to Pittsburgh, the ESPN college football expert as Duke in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl.

Schlabach has Duke playing the South Carolina Gamecocks on December 30 in what would be a 4:00pm EST kickoff on ESPN. The Music City Bowl is being held at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Duke Blue Devils are 1-1 in the ACC and will play all conference games for the remainder of the season with the exception of November 9 against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Duke’s next game will be on October 12 at Wallace Wade Stadium when the Blue Devils host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at 12:30pm EST which can be seen on the ACC Network or various Regional Sports Networks.
