The Duke Football team soared up the ESPN bowl game predictions after a blowout win on the roast against Virginia Tech on Friday night.

After a dominating and convincing win over the Virginia Tech Hokies on Friday night in Blacksburg, the Duke Blue Devils soared in the latest bowl game projections by ESPN college football experts Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach.

The Blue Devils are now 3-1 on the season with wins over North Carolina A&T and on the road against Middle Tennessee State and Virginia Tech. Duke’s only loss this season came in the first game of the year against the now No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide.

After a bye week in Week 4, Kyle Bonagura placed the Blue Devils in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl against the Utah Utes, while Mark Schlabach did not have Duke reaching the postseason.

That all changed after Friday night as both experts believe Duke will get to at least the six-win mark on the season and get to a bowl game.

Schlabach as the Blue Devils returning to New York City to face the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl on December 27 at 3:30pm EST, while Bonagura still has Duke in the Sun Bowl, but this time facing the USC Trojans on December 31.

The Duke Blue Devils will return to Wallace Wade Stadium for just the second time this weekend as the Blue Devils will host the Pittsburgh Panthers at 8:00pm EST on the ACC Network.

Pitt is coming off a less than stellar game at home against the University of Delaware, but a week before the letdown, the Panthers had one of the more impressive upsets of the season over the then No. 18 UCF Knights.

Duke will play ACC games for the rest of the season, except on November 9 when the Notre Dame Fighting Irish come to Wallace Wade Stadium.
