Duke Basketball star freshman, R.J. Barrett, has continued his roll and swept the ACC Weekly Honors winning the ACC Player and Freshman of the Week.

R.J. Barrett won his first ACC Freshman of the Week Award last week for his performance against Indiana and Stetson.

Barrett is now taking home is second ACC Freshman of the Week Award along with his first ever ACC Player of the Week Award for continuing his hot streak in wins over Hartford and Yale this week.

In the Blue Devils’ 84-54 victory over Hartford on Wednesday night, Barrett poured in his first double-double of his collegiate career with 27 points and 15 rebounds along with four assists and one block.

In that Duke victory, Barrett made ten of his fourteen shot attempts, and making three of four from three point range.

Possibly to the surprise of no one, Barrett topped his performance against Hartford on Saturday night against Yale.

The Canadian native finished with his second highest scoring total of the season, 30 points, to go along with seven rebounds, six assists, one block, and one steal. Barrett struggled a bit more from the field making nine of his nineteen attempts and draining three of nine from beyond the arc.

However, Barrett did make nine of his twelve attempts from the free throw line.

The only game where Barrett scored more points than he did against the Bulldogs was in the first game of the season in the Champions Classic against the Kentucky Wildcats where R.J. introduced himself to the college basketball world with 33 points.

On the season, R.J. Barrett is averaging 24.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.

This was the second time this season that a Blue Devil swept both the ACC Player and Freshman of the Week Awards as Zion Williamson did the same in the first week of the season.

In a not so bold prediction, Barrett will not win any awards in this upcoming week as the Blue Devils are off for final exams.

The next time the No. 2 Duke Blue Devils will take the floor it will be Cameron Indoor Stadium on Tuesday, December 18 against the Princeton Tigers at 6:00 pm ET on ESPN2.
