The Duke Basketball team used a big second half to put away Yale and will head into the bye week for final exams with a 9-1 record.

The first half proved that the Yale Bulldogs were not going to be a pushover, but the talent level of the No. 3 Duke Blue Devils would reign supreme as Duke took home a 91-58 victory.

The Blue Devils only led by nine points at halftime, but outscored Yale 50-26 in the second half to bury the Bulldogs and move to 9-1 on the season.

The loss dropped Yale to 1-3 on the young season.

Leading the way for Duke was star freshman R.J. Barrett, who dropped 30 points on Yale to go along with his seven rebounds, six assists, a steal, and a block.

Fellow freshman Zion Williamson added 20 points to the Blue Devils winning cause as he continued to be active down in the paint with eight rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block.

Cam Reddish struggled last game against Hartford and that continued in the first half today against Yale, but he started to get in a groove in the second half as he finished with 10 points, making four of twelve shots attempts, but hitting nothing from beyond the arc, missing all five attempts.

Reddish also finished with three rebounds, three assists, and four steals.

The biggest concern coming out of this game for the Blue Devils is the health of Tre Jones. Jones left the game midway through the second half with what looked to be a leg injury as the freshman limped off the court. Jones then returned for one play before exiting for the locker room.

Jones did not return to the game but did return to the bench.

Javin DeLaurier made his first appearance in the starting lineup tonight as he finished with six points, five rebounds, two assists, and a steal.

On the flip side, Marques Bolden came off the bench and he chipped in just two points, but he did have four rebounds and two blocks.

Jack White was sensation as always off the bench as he had nine points, 12 rebounds, one assist, three steals, and two blocks.

Alex O’Connell also added six points in 19 minutes of action.

Miye Oni and Alex Copeland led the way for Yale with 12 points each, but Oni had to depart the game early as he fouled out midway through the second half.

The Blue Devils will be off for final exams until December 18 as they will host the Princeton Tigers at 6:00 pm ET on ESPN2.
