Duke Basketball: Hartford has tough test looking for back to back wins

The Hartford University Hawks are looking for its first back to back wins of the season, but they will have a tough time against the Duke Basketball team.

It’s been a tough start to the year for the Hartford University Hawks, losing its first three games, two by blowout fashion on the road against Utah State and then No. 18 Mississippi State.

The Hawks then won on the road against Quinnipiac, before losing two straight at home to Utah Valley and Iona.

The Hawks have since won two of its last three games, at home against Western New England and against Bowling Green, but a loss against Sacred Heart is sandwiched between those two victories.

However, up next for the Hartford Hawks is the biggest test of the year, traveling down to Durham to take on the No. 3 Duke Blue Devils.

The Hawks are led by four senior players who all average double figures, but leading the pack is John Carroll a senior from Dublin, Ireland as he puts up 18.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.

Two New Jersey led players, guard Jason Dunne and J.R. Lynch are next up in scoring for the Hawks, as Dunne averages 14.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, while Lynch contributes 13.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game.

The senior forward from Geelong, Australia, George Blagojevic is the leading rebounds on this Hartford team with 7.4 rebounds per game to go along with 13.0 points and 1.4 assists per game.

The senior led Hartford Hawks will get put to the test against the young and explosive Duke Blue Devils on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm ET from Cameron Indoor Stadium. The game can be seen on ESPN2.
