Cameron Boozer might just be having the greatest freshman season in college basketball history. It's insane that Duke fans can say that for a second straight season.

Because Cooper Flagg had one of the best freshman seasons of all time a year ago. And Boozer has been even better. The Blue Devils' superstar led the charge once again during Monday night's 93-64 blowout win over NC State with 26 points and 9 rebounds. His remarkable consistency remains his greatest superpower.

During the win, Boozer made more college basketball history.

According to ESPN insights, Boozer is the first freshman in 30 years to record 650 points, 300 rebounds, and 100 assists in a single season before the start of the conference tournament. He did it with one game left to spare, too.

That would have been impressive enough on its own, but Boozer accomplished something else special during a dominant performance against the Wolfpack. For the 17th straight ACC game, Boozer finished with at least 15 points and 5 rebounds, breaking a tie with future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant for the most consecutive games doing so in the last 20 years.

Kevin Durant. That's the company that Boozer is keeping during his historic freshman season.

Cameron Boozer is running away with the National Player of the Year

Cameron Boozer is about to become the second straight Duke freshman to capture the Wooden Award as the National Player of the Year. The race isn't close, despite how historic this freshman class has been across college basketball, and how good upperclassmen like Yaxel Lendeborg (Michigan) and Joshua Jefferson (Iowa State), among others, have been.

KenPom has been tracking its player of the year formula since 2011. This season by Boozer has produced - by far - the highest number. Boozer's kPOY rating of 3.256 has nearly doubled that of second place (Jefferson's 1.763).

However good you have it in your mind that Boozer has been, he's been better.

He's the head of the snake of college basketball's best team, and the biggest reason the Blue Devils will enter the NCAA Tournament as the favorite to win it all.
