Duke basketball recruiting target takes official visit to school not in finalists
Duke basketball recruiting target VJ Edgecombe is taking another official visit.
It has been very clear that Duke basketball recruiting target VJ Edgecombe is going to throughly enjoy his time being courted by different programs.
Edgecombe, a 5-star wing from New York, released his Top-10 finalists in July which included Alabama, Baylor, Florida, Michigan, St. John’s, Miami, Florida State, UConn, Duke, and the G-League Ignite.
The Long Island Lutheran (NY) standout just completed his official visit to Durham last weekend as Cooper Flagg, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2024, and 5-star forward Patrick Ngongba II were also on campus for their visits with the Blue Devils.
However, the No. 6 player in the 247Sports Composite rankings was offered by Kentucky after he published his trimmed down list and it’s clear that the 6-foot-5 wing is going to listen to what Jon Calipari has to offer.

VJ Edgecombe began an official visit to Kentucky this weekend after landing an offer from the Wildcats in mid-September.
In addition to Duke, he has already taken official visits to Baylor, Florida, and Michigan with trips planned to Alabama and Florida State in the next two weeks.
Duke basketball recruitment could continue into spring
It seems very clear that this particular recruitment will go deep into the high school basketball season and perhaps even drag into the spring when coaches are trying to fill out their rosters through the transfer portal.

Duke currently has the No. 4 recruiting class in 2024, according to 247Sports, with 5-star prospects Isaiah Evans and Kon Knueppel committed to the Blue Devils along with 4-stat wing Darren Harris.
Flagg will also announce his college decision at any moment and many experts believe he will commit to Duke over UConn while Ngongba II is announcing his decision on November 4 between Kansas State, Kentucky, or Duke.
