The Duke basketball players are helping out during Cooper Flagg’s recruitment.
Social media plays such a major part in the recruitment of prospects in today’s world and the Duke basketball players are helping out in the program’s pursuit of Cooper Flagg.
Flagg completed his official visit to Durham this weekend — his second trip to the campus after taking an unofficial visit in August — and one of the biggest parts of the trip is the photoshoot for fans of the team to see what the prospect looks like in their colors.
Duke put the top prospect in the senior class in its iconic Brotherhood uniform that honors the history of the program and the players that made the Blue Devils into a college basketball powerhouse.
Cooper Flagg was joined by his family during the photoshoot and current Duke players were quick to comment on his Instagram post when he shared the images with the world.
Blue Devil senior captain Jeremy Roach commented, “I pledge allegiance to the Flagg,” while sophomore forward Mark Mitchell echoed similar sentiment with a comment, “I pledge allegiance.”

Ryan Young, who was also named a captain entering his season season with Duke, said, “Yeah this looks pretty good.”
Jaylen Blakes added, “You must like that jersey,” as Neal Begovich, a first year walk-on player with the Blue Devils after transferring from Stanford posted, “I think the Flagg has found his new home.”
Tyrese Proctor, Kyle Filipowski, and Jaden Schutt also committed on the series of pictures while Sean Stewart, Flagg’s teammate at Montverde Academy (Fla.) last season, posted twice underneath the post with “Capture the Flagg” and “Eassssy choice.”
Duke basketball recruits, professionals also admire photoshoot
Cooper Flagg was on his official visit alongside 5-star prospects VJ Edgecombe and Patrick Ngongba II as the three players posed for a picture in the Duke jerseys that also found its way to social media.
Edgecombe, the reigning New York Player of the Year, commented, “Teammyyy????” under the post as Duke was included in the Top-10 finalists of the Long Island Lutheran standout although his recruitment could linger into the spring.

Duke standout forward Paolo Banchero commented on the photos and tagged both Flagg and Edgecombe in his remarks which said that both players looked good in the Duke threads.
A decision is expected soon from Cooper Flagg on whether he will commit to the Blue Devils or UConn Huskies and while a specific date has not been set, many are expecting that he will ultimately chose Duke.
