The Duke basketball team has a superstar in the making on its roster.
Some players arrive to the Duke basketball program with big-time names and reputations only to find themselves overwhelmed by the spotlight and the microscope that comes with being a part of the Blue Devils, but freshman guard Jared McCain is fitting in well and embracing the grind of college basketball.
The uber-popular McCain is poised to significantly impact the court for Duke with his play on both sides of the ball as he’s bringing a big-time reputation as an elite shooter, high IQ player, and winner.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound shooting guard has been noticeably good in workouts, practice, and scrimmages as he is competing for the final spot in the starting lineup.
Things will depend on how Jon Scheyer tweaks the offense, which he said he will do, as the expectation is that the Blue Devils will be playing fast and shooting a lot of 3-pointers.
