Duke football pulls off epic field storming after upset against No. 9 Clemson
The Duke football fans pulled off an epic field storming after beating No. 9 Clemson.
Monday night at Wallace Wade Stadium is going to be remembered for quite a while but the Duke football fans made the celebration more memorable.
As the final seconds ticked off the clock in the Blue Devils’ 28-7 stunning upset over No. 9 Clemson, the students that packed the bleachers started creeping closer to the field.
A good, old fashioned field storming was brewing.
Most of the students regularly pack the tight stands inside Cameron Indoor Stadium for Duke basketball games during the winter when they are not allowed to storm the floor after big victories, but those rules were not in place for football.
A Cade Klubnick pass for Will Shipley on 4th & 8 fell incomplete and the game was only a few kneel downs from being officially over.

Fans began to make their way onto Brooks Field despite the clock still having 1:55 remaining. No one was stopping these ‘Cameron Crazies’.
Multiple angles of the field storming perfectly captures the pandemonium in Durham when Riley Leonard took the final kneel down to secure the victory.

The victory was the first time Duke had defeated a Top-10 team since 1989, which ironically was also against the Clemson Tigers.
Duke football hoping for another field storming
Duke still has the potential for another field storming when the Notre Dame Fighting Irish come to Wallace Wade Stadium on Saturday, September 30 in what could be a primetime matchup between two undefeated, Top-15 teams.
The Irish still have to get through a road matchup against North Carolina State and showdown with Ohio State before looking ahead to the Blue Devils while Duke has Lafayette, Northwestern, and UConn on its schedule.
A fine might be coming from the ACC for the action of the students but it seems like it was well worth it for a football program that has officially introduced itself to the country on national television.
