The Duke basketball program booked an official visit with sharpshooter Kon Knueppel.
Things could be progressing closer to another commitment for the Duke basketball program in the Class of 2024 after an official visit to Durham has been booked by Kon Knueppel.
Knueppel just landed an offer from the Blue Devils on July 2 after the coaching staff was able to see him at the Pangos All-American Camp and the NBAPA Top-100 Camp.
Mark Miller of Wisconsin Sports Network was the first to report the scheduled visit.
Knueppel, a Wisconsin Lutheran High School standout, will visit Alabama a week before his trip to Duke beginning September 15.
The 6-foot-5 forward is ranked as a 5-star prospect and the No. 20 recruit in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Known for his outstanding shot making, Knueppel is also listed as the No. 9 small forward in his class and the top player in the state of Wisconsin.
Duke basketball emerging as top program in race for the elite shooter
Kon Knueppel has also taken official visits to Virginia, Stanford, Notre Dame, and Louisville but, as of July 1, there is no longer a restriction on how many official visits a recruit can take.
Knueppel, if he wishes, could take another visit to Notre Dame given there was a coaching change since his last official visit.
Miller said that Marquette and Wisconsin, both which have offered the in-state product, remain involved in his recruitment.
Duke already has two commitments in the Class of 2024, 4-star shooting guard Darren Harris and 5-star forward Isaiah Evans, but could be adding more soon.
The Blue Devils remain in the mix for 5-star target Dylan Harper and were just included in the Top-8 finalists for 4-star center Patrick Ngongba II.
Things have been trending in a rapid positive direction between Duke and Kon Knueppel but there is no timeline for a commitment or announcement of a group of finalists.
