There aren’t many players like Danny Ferry around college basketball anymore.

Ferry played in 40 games for Duke during his freshman season and only averaged 5.9 points per game before he exploded in the final three years in his tenure as a Blue Devil.

The 6-foot-10 forward averaged 14.0, 19.1. and 22.6 points per contest in his final three seasons in Durham which saw him be named as the consensus National Player of the Year, and First Team All-American, after his senior year.

Ferris was also the two-time ACC Player of the Year in his junior and senior seasons while being a consensus Second Team All-American as a junior.

In those seasons, Dannie Ferry was also the two-time ACC Athlete of the Year and his No. 35 hangs in the rafters of Cameron Indoor Stadium.
