Duke basketball wing Cam Reddish will hit the open market of free agency.

The long, winding career of Duke basketball wing Cam Reddish will take another turn next week as he is set to his free agency after a brief stint with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Michael Scotto of HoopsHype tweeted on Wednesday night that the Blazers will not be extending a qualifying offer to Reddish, making him an unrestricted free agent after just 20 games with the organization.

Reddish was traded to Portland from the New York Knicks last season after it became clear that the former Blue Devil was not going to have a large role in the team’s game plans.

The former Top-10 picks of the Atlanta Hawks was acquired by the Knicks at the trade deadline in 2022 and played a total of 35 games in two years for New York after spending two and a half seasons with Atlanta, playing 98 games.

In just four NBA seasons, Cam Reddish is averaging 10.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 39.9-percent from the floor and 32.2-percent from 3-point range.

Reddish averaged 11.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per contest while making 12 starts for Portland this season.

Cam Reddish also has postseason experience with the Hawks in 2021 when he averaged 12.8 points per contest in one playoff series in which he played in four games total, including a 21-point performance in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Scotto cited that many NBA executives believe that Cam Reddish has untapped potential and could be sought after during free agency.

Reddish has showed his ability in flashes but injuries and inconsistencies have plagued him throughout his short NBA career.

Now, for the first in his career, Cam Reddish will have the ability to survey the market and pick where he wants to play next season.

NBA free agency officially begins on Friday, June 30 at 6:00p.m. ET.
