The Duke basketball team might have made the first step to securing a historic class.

Historic recruiting classes and the Duke basketball program are no strangers to each other.

The 2014 recruiting class headlined by Jahlil Okafor and Tyus Jones comes to mind as well as the 2018 class led by Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett.

What Jon Scheyer is hoping to do in 2025 could surpass both of those classes.

Duke is targeting Cameron Boozer, the No. 1 player sophomore class and perhaps the best prospect in high school basketball, Cooper Flagg, the No. 2 player in the class, and Cayden Boozer, Cameron’s twin brother and Top-30 recruit.

The Boozer’s are the sons of Blue Devil Hall of Famer Carlos Boozer and Flagg, a standout at Montverde Academy (Fla.), has called Duke his “dream school” on multiple occasions after saying he has modeled his game after Jayson Tatum and Grayson Allen.

However, Duke’s chances of landing the 6-foot-8 Flagg might have increased over the weekend after Rivals‘ recruiting expert Rob Cassidy posted a FutureCast prediction for the forward to land in Durham.

Cassidy’s prediction for Cooper Flagg is the first of any major recruiting site.

Cooper Flagg recently picked up an offer from Kansas and is also being courted by Connecticut, UCLA, Michigan, and others.

It has nearly been a year since Flagg landed an offer from Jon Scheyer and the Blue Devils but the program still does not have a commitment in the Class of 2025.

Duke has only offered one other prospect in the sophomore class — outside of the Boozer’s and Flagg — in 5-star point guard Meleek Thomas, who ranks as the No. 6 prospect in 2025.
