The Duke basketball team has entered the race for another 5-star prospect.

The recruiting class in 2025 could be legendary for Jon Scheyer and the Duke basketball team.

Cameron Boozer and Cooper Flagg are the top two players in the class, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, and some have argued that the two are the two best players in high school basketball — regardless of graduation year.

Both have offers from the Blue Devils, as well as Cameron Boozer’s twin brother Cayden Boozer, the sons of Duke Hall of Famer Carlos Boozer.

Now, another high school sophomore has landed an offer from Jon Scheyer and its 5-star guard Meleek Thomas.

Thomas announced the offer on Twitter.

Thomas, listed as a 6-foot-4 point guard already in his development, is the No. 6 player in the nation and top point guard in the class, according to 247Sports.

Scheyer and the rest of the Duke coaching staff watched the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center (Pa.) standout play for the NY Lightning in the first live Nike EYBL event of the season in Atlanta last weekend.

Jai Lucas, Amile Jefferson, and Chris Carrawell were also in attendance.

Thomas holds offers from Connecticut, Indiana, Pittsburgh, St. John’s, Tennessee, and Villanova, among others, while gathering interest from Kentucky.

The Duke staff were also able to watch the Boozers during the EYBL session in addition to 2024 recruits like Dylan Harper and Tyler Betsey.

Andrew Slater of Cerebro Sports tweeted that an unofficial visit to Duke in June is possible for Meleek Thomas as he continues to peak in recruiting events and stand out to elite programs.

Duke has not landed a commitment in the Class of 2025 — nor does it seem close to doing so as the program only has one player verbally pledged in 2024 — but the potential for an all-time recruiting class is a viable option for Jon Scheyer.
