Duke basketball transfer portal target Kadin Shedrick announced his decision.
Jon Scheyer is still looking for a center to add to the Duke basketball roster in the transfer portal after Virginia’s Kadin Shedrick committed to Texas on Sunday night.
Shedrick announced his decision with Jeff Goodman on The Field of 68.
The 6-foot-11 center was scheduled to visit Duke on April 29 but announced earlier on Sunday that he would be postponing his remaining visits.
The former Cavalier started 34 of his 76 career games at Virginia and averaged 6.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per contest this season while shooting 64.7-percent from the field.
Shedrick visited Texas and Missouri last week and was also scheduled to take an official visit to Xavier, in addition to Duke, before announcing his decision.

Kansas State was also included in the Top-5 finalists for the Holly Springs, North Carolina native, who has two years of eligibility remaining.
Duke basketball still searching for interior depth
Duke has not lost any player on its current roster to the transfer portal but it has seen Dariq Whitehead and Dereck Lively II enter the 2023 NBA Draft. Junior point guard Jeremy Roach also entered the draft but announced he will be maintaining his college eligibility.
Roach has until May 31 at 11:59p.m. ET to formally announced his decision.
Northwestern transfer Ryan Young will be returning to the Blue Devils but he proved last season that he serves better as a reserve player and was a good compliment to the shot blocking force of Lively.

Mark Mitchell, Tyrese Proctor, and Kyle Filipowski announced the will be returning to the program for their sophomore seasons while 5-star freshman wing Mackenzie Mgbako requested his release from his National Letter of Intent after Filipowski announced his decision.
Duke will remain focused on the transfer portal but it remains unclear who the top priority for the program will be going forward.
