It’s all hugs and kisses for the Jayhawks

Nobody is giving them much of a chance. All the college football media can talk about is Kansas and their high-powered offense. WynnBET has the Blue Devils as a seven-point underdog. Nobody really seems to think they can go into Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kansas and get a win. It is time for Duke football to prove them all wrong.

The Kansas Jayhawks are the shiny new toy of the college football media. They’re loving the fact that the terminally awful team (at least for the last twelve years) from the Big XII is 3-0 and exciting to watch. When it comes to Duke’s 3-0 record, the attitude among the talking heads and writers is, “Well, isn’t that sweet.” It is kind of like they are patting the Blue Devils on the head and telling them to run along so they can talk about big people stuff.

Hopefully, they’re taking all of this in

I really hope Mike Elko’s team is listening to them all blather on about Kansas. I don’t doubt the first-year head coach is using it for motivation and throwing it in the faces of his players every chance he gets. You don’t necessarily need your opponent to give you bulletin board material-sometimes it comes from outside sources. This is nothing new. Anytime a team has a mobile quarterback who is a danger each time he touches the ball, the media gets all doe-eyed and fawns incessantly. That’s fine. Let them fawn over and covet the Jayhawks. When it comes game time, it won’t make a difference what they think.

I really don’t have a problem with Kansas-I think head coach Lance Leipold has done a great job. My problem is with the college football media who is acting like there is only one team capable of winning this game. It is time for the Blue Devils to prove all of them wrong.
