A Duke basketball commit is helping his future coaches and land a coveted recruit.
The Duke basketball program already has the top ranked recruiting class in 2023 but one of its pledges is hoping to further the Blue Devils’ stranglehold on the top spot.
Caleb Foster, a five-star point guard, told Jason Jordan of Sports Illustrated that his “one wish for the summer is to get a commitment from TJ Power.”
Foster, the No. 19 player in the Class of 2023, is joined by five-star forward Mackenzie Mgbako, five-star forward Sean Stewart, and five-star shooting guard Jared McCain in the next Duke recruiting class as Jon Scheyer looks to add on for the Blue Devils.
Power picked up a Duke offer on July 14 and quickly began his official visit to Durham on July 26, one day after he officially visited North Carolina.
Duke basketball with conference competition for hot recruit
The fast-rising TJ Power is a four-star recruit and has jumped to the No. 63 player in the Class of 2023, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, while On3 has pegged the 6-foot-8 forward as the No. 21 player in the country.
Stojakovic is the most recent player in the class that landed a Duke offer, which was extended on July 25, and he included the Blue Devils in his Top-6 finalists alongside UCLA, Stanford, Texas, Oregon, and Virginia.
There are no Crystal Ball Predictions for TJ Power on 247Sports by the recruiting service but it does have UCLA as the favorite to land Andrej Stojakovic.
On3 has Virginia as the leader for Power with Duke, North Carolina, and Virginia all in close competition for the Worcester Academy (Mass.) star.
Caleb Foster and the Duke coaching staff has their work cut out for them on the recruiting trail but no one can discount the Blue Devils when trying to reel in a prized target.
