Former Duke basketball head coach Mike Krzyzewski appears to be enjoying retirement.

An unwritten rule seemed to be broken recently that involved former Duke basketball head coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Never film another man while at the slot machine in a casino.

Krzyzewski, who retied from coaching in April, was caught on camera enjoying his time off at The Wynn Casino in Las Vegas casino before a man with a cell phone rudely had to narrate and chirp the Hall of Famer.

Coach K appears to notice the man is filming him when he sits down at the machine next to him and says, “any luck so far?” but the 75-year old takes a sip of his water and continues with his game.

If hecklers on the road at ACC venues aren’t going to get on the nerves of the legendary Mike Krzyzewski neither will a man looking for his 15 minutes of fame on the floor of a Las Vegas casino.

Duke basketball head coach will stay away from Blue Devils

Despite still having his office and remaining as a consultant for Duke University, Mike Krzyzewski has made it known that he will be staying away from the basketball program.

Coach K said as much in his final press conferences during the 2021-22 season and reiterated it in a recent interview with Jon Rothstein on the College Hoops Today Podcast.

“There’s no place in Cameron Indoor Stadium — a box or something — where you can get away from the maddening crowds. That’s going to be frustrating because I’d like to be there, but I also don’t want to be in the way,” Krzyzewski said.

“I don’t want to be a distraction. I don’t need for people to see me. But I want Jon [Scheyer] to know that I’m there if he needs me at any time.”

Mike Krzyzewski said he could attend a road game this upcoming season but it would have to be in the ideal venue under perfect circumstances — perhaps the Jimmy V Classic in Madison Square Garden against Iowa.
