Duke football: Training camp nears as Mike Elko looks to make impact
Duke football begins tough stretch of games
Game 7: North Carolina Tar Heels
This is game that every Blue Devil player, coach, and fan wants to win more than any other.
Duke fans have heard about the Blue Devils’ misery against Tar Heel coach Mack Brown over and over again, especially the last three years.
Bringing the Victory Bell back to Gothic Wonderland would be huge and who knows, they might build a statue of Coach Elko outside the stadium.
You just don’t hear of Duke head football coaches beating UNC on their first try.
Game 8: at Miami Hurricanes
Like Duke, the “U” will be bringing in a new head coach.
The Blue Devils have been dominated by Miami the past two seasons and this will be a big test to see how Duke can handle playing in an NFL stadium against a very physical team.
Game 9: at Boston College
The two schools don’t play each other much.
The worry here is that Duke could be physically drained coming out of the Miami game.
Trying to win a second straight road game is a lot to ask for. Another toss-up game.
