Some 2024 perimeter playmakers are popping up on the Duke basketball radar.

With the 2022 and 2023 Duke basketball recruiting classes at or nearing completion — both rank No. 1 in the country with at least five prizes apiece — the staff in Durham should have plenty of time these days to scout and show interest in premier 2024 talents.

And that seems to be what’s happening.

The Blue Devils might be several months away from landing their first 2024 commitment, but they have already handed out offers to three current high school sophomores. Interestingly, they are all small forwards: five-star Naas Cunningham, five-star Bryson Tucker, and four-star Darren Harris.

In recent weeks, though, three five-star guards, each now sitting among the top 15 on the 247Sports 2024 Composite, have captured Duke’s attention. There’s a chance one or more of them will soon be among the next batch of offer recipients from first-year head coach Jon Scheyer and his staff.
