Duke basketball: Takeaways from thrilling Sweet 16 win over Texas Tech
Duke basketball takeaways in victory against Texas Tech
Paolo Banchero was a Professional
Most times when Paolo Banchero takes the court he is the best player on the floor, and that was the case once again on Thursday night.
Not only was Banchero the best player on the floor against Texas Tech, he also looked like a professional.
The 3-pointer that put Duke back in the lead, 69-68, was the biggest shot of the season.
His ability to back down defenders in the paint and get clean looks could not be stopped from the best defense in the country. Paolo Banchero took the game over, and Duke needed everything the star freshman provided them for the victory.
Banchero ended the night with a game-high 22 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals while shooting 7-of-12 from the floor, 3-of-4 from 3-point range, and 5-of-6 from the free throw line.
Duke will need a similar effort from its star on Saturday against Arkansas.
