Ranking all 24 Duke basketball players in the NBA this season
By Matt Giles
10. Former Duke basketball guard Tyus Jones
Tyus Jones, a pure floor general who went No. 24 overall at the 2015 NBA Draft after guiding the Blue Devils to a national championship as a one-and-done, is now in his seventh year as a pro. This season is the Minnesota native’s third with the Memphis Grizzlies, and he’s enjoying arguably his best campaign to date.
Between 53 appearances, including 14 starts, the 25-year-old Jones is an essential piece to the Grizzlies bench while putting up the following season averages and percentages:
- 8.1 points per game (career-high)
- 2.5 rebounds per game (career-high)
- 4.2 assists per game
- 0.9 steals per game
- 0.0 blocks per game
- 46.1 percent from the field (career-high)
- 35.8 percent beyond the arc
- 86.7 percent from the charity stripe
Tyus Jones and the Memphis Grizzlies (41-19), now No. 3 in the Western Conference standings, return from the All-Star break at 8 p.m. ET Thursday in a road contest against the Minnesota Timberwolves (31-28).
