There’s no shortage of recruits seeking Duke basketball attention nowadays.

The Duke basketball staff has delivered a scholarship offer to only one 2024 recruit to date in Gill St. Bernard’s (N.J.) five-star small forward Naas Cunningham, who ranks No. 1 overall in the class. But there are a few others on the Blue Devil radar and several more who hope to garner interest from the coaches in Durham as soon as possible.

One such potential Duke target is Georgetown Prep (Md.) sophomore Khani Rooths, one of the top four-star prospects among his peers who already boasts a growing list of high-major offers. That list includes the likes of Georgetown, Maryland, and Virginia Tech.

Plus, according to a tweet this week from Pro Insight national recruiting insider Andrew Slater, Cincinnati, Louisville, Notre Dame, and Villanova have taken notice of the 6-foot-7, 180-pound small forward. And Rooths told Slater his wishlist of future suitors consists of arguably the three bluest bluebloods in college basketball: Duke, Kentucky, and UNC.

Will Khani Rooths’ skillset attract Duke basketball recruiting eyes?

Khani Rooths came in at No. 29 overall in this week’s debut of the 247Sports 2024 Composite.

Along with his noticeably long arms and stride, Rooths appears to possess considerable bounce from a standstill down low and relatively smooth handles in the open court for his height. He seems to thrive in attacking the basket when the action on the floor is hectic.

As for weaknesses, here’s what Rooths recently said to Dushawn London of 247Sports:

“I’m still unlocking my jump shot. It’s getting there, for sure, but I have a lot to learn. I also want to improve my decision-making, not just knowing where my players are but where they should be.”

The Duke Blue Devils, under the direction of head coach-in-waiting and lead recruiter Jon Scheyer, own the No. 1 hauls on both the 2022 and 2023 recruiting trails, per the 247Sports Team Rankings.
