Duke basketball: 3 keys to the Florida State rematch
By Jack Burgess
Key to a Duke basketball victory against Florida State: Execution
Time and time again, Duke has failed to execute down the stretch at home. For some reason, the Blue Devils are capable of demolishing teams on the road but can’t find that same spark in Cameron. It’s strange, but it’s something that can easily be resolved.
If Duke can find a way to resist turning the ball over, then the squad should find an edge in this game against Florida State.
A lack of turnovers then results in longer possessions, which allow the Blue Devils to find the best shot available and, at the very least, drive to the basket and draw fouls. I would rather have a couple of tries at free throws than a contested mid-range jumper.
Getting to the free throw line and looking for the best shots possible (make or miss) should give the Blue Devils the momentum they need to take this one.
