Duke basketball: Punishment handed out to Clemson guard David Collins
The ACC has handed out the punishments after Duke basketball forward Wendell Moore’s fall.
The story of the night in college basketball was the Flagrant 2 foul assessed to Clemson’s David Collins after his dirty undercut of Duke basketball captain Wendell Moore.
Moore was able to stay in the game and seems to have avoided any injury. Collins was ejected from the game, but the Atlantic Coast Conference has levied further penalty against the Tigers’ guard as he is suspended for one game.
Collins will serve the suspension as Clemson hosts Notre Dame (17-7, 10-3 ACC) on Saturday night (7:00 p.m., ACC Network).
There was no further comment by the ACC about the suspension, nor has there been a comment by Collins or Clemson since the suspension was announced.
Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski called the event “one of the most dangerous plays” he has ever seen, and the Hall of Famer was assessed a technical foul in the sequence after rushing out onto the court.

Wendell Moore finished the game with eight points, four rebounds, and eight assists in 33 minutes of action while Collins was scoreless in 14 minutes.
No. 7 Duke (20-4, 10-3 ACC) defeated Clemson, 82-64, as the Tigers (12-12, 4-9 ACC) have now lost three games in a row.
