A Duke basketball recruiting target now has two official visits on tap.

According to a tweet this week from Zagsblog recruiting insider Jacob Polacheck, Centennial (Calif.) shooting guard Jared Mccain has marked his calendar for his first two official visits of the year. One is of the Duke basketball variety, taking place the weekend of Feb. 6, and the other is to Gonzaga a week later.

Mccain, whose massive following as a TikTok showman places him among the top prep basketball players in terms of potential NIL value, is either a five-star or four-star prospect, depending on which site one chooses to reference.

Across the past six months, the 6-foot-2, 175-pound silky sharpshooter rose from No. 78 to No. 24 on the 247Sports 2023 Composite.

Now, Mccain holds more than a dozen offers. Although he hasn’t named finalists and doesn’t plan to decide on a college destination until after Peach Jam in July, the 247Sports Crystal Ball paints the Blue Devils as frontrunners, albeit with only one expert prediction to date.

Yet another stellar Duke basketball recruiting class in the making

At this stage in the game, Jared Mccain is one of six undecided high school juniors weighing a Blue Devil offer. The other five are five-star small forward Mackenzie Mgbako, five-star small forward Matas Buzelis, five-star small forward Taylor Bowen, five-star small forward JJ Taylor, and five-star power forward GG Jackson.

Meanwhile, Duke head coach-in-waiting Jon Scheyer and his gang already enjoy a pair of 2023 commits in five-star point guard Caleb Foster and four-star power forward Sean Stewart. As is the case on the 2022 recruiting trail, they sit atop the 247Sports Team Rankings for the class.
