Duke basketball legend Zion Williamson is Charles Barkley’s comedy routine.

Yes, Zion Williamson remains out of commission indefinitely for the New Orleans Pelicans due to a foot injury that has kept the 21-year-old from playing any minutes thus far this season. Meanwhile, NBA on TNT analyst Charles Barkley continues to deliver one-liners at the Duke basketball alum’s expense.

In early November, when the expectation was Williamson would return to the floor within a few weeks, Barkley had Shaquille O’Neal walking off the set in deep belly laughter after saying viral footage of the seemingly overweight NBA Blue Devil “looks like me and Shaq had a baby.”

Then on Thursday night, Barkley was trending on social media again after proposing a simple diet plan that worked well for him when he was an NBA star sporting a similar physique. Once again, “The Chuckster” left Shaq and the rest of the crew in a prolonged state of chuckles by uttering the following advice for Williamson when it comes to food in general:

“If it tastes good, spit it out.”

Zion Williamson’s weight and injury woes have been at the center of attention since he went No. 1 overall at the 2019 NBA Draft following his epic one-and-done Blue Devil campaign. Still, it’s worth noting the 6-foot-6, 285-pound power forward has been nothing short of prolific in the games he has played as a pro.

Last season, across his 61 appearances for the New Orleans Pelicans, Williamson averaged 27.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while shooting 61.1 percent from the field. As a result of his routinely unstoppable efforts, he earned an invite to the 2021 NBA All-Star Game.
