Duke basketball guard Jaylen Blakes (Rob Kinnan-USA TODAY Sports) /

10. Duke basketball guard Jaylen Blakes

  • 1.3 points per game
  • 1.5 rebounds per game
  • 0.7 assists per game
  • 0.2 steals per game
  • 0.2 blocks per game
  • 0.7 turnovers per game
  • 3-for-10 from the field (30.0 percent)
  • 2-for-7 beyond the arc (28.6 percent)
  • 0-for-0 from the foul line
  • 6.3 minutes per game

Although Jaylen Blakes has exhibited his fair share of athletic plays in his limited action during all six games this season, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound freshman has also appeared a tad out of place on several occasions. All in all, it doesn’t look as if Mike Krzyzewski trusts the 18-year-old New Jersey native enough just yet to put him on the floor for extended minutes against a quality opponent.

Still, chances are Blakes will need to fill in for a brief stretch or two on Friday night. In that case, the Duke Blue Devils would benefit from the reserve point guard capitalizing on his speed and crafty defense without letting the bright lights blind him.

Grade: 75 (C)
