No. 4 thing to watch during the Duke basketball season:

Mark Williams’ Continued Development

The rise of Mark Williams last season is still shocking.

Williams went from a bench player, to role player, to fringe starter, to certain starter, to star.

The sophomore now is tasked with taking the next step in his development and becoming a breakout player that many are expecting out of him.

Williams averaged 7.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game as a freshman, and playing alongside Paolo Banchero in the frontcourt will only help the big man as defenses will focus their attention on the All-American caliber talent.

Mark Williams will not only be an offensive weapon for the Blue Devils, but his defensive prowess could also be the biggest factor this season for Duke as he will erase the mistakes that are made on the perimeter.
