The Duke basketball team is finally back in action after a long offseason

Rejoice Duke basketball fans, the Blue Devils are back.

Well, rejoice at your own peril because this will be the final year under head coach Mike Krzyzewski, and the Hall of Famer’s farewell tour could not start off with a bigger game.

Duke and Kentucky will close out the opening day of college basketball in the State Farm Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden, the final game at The World’s Most Famous Arena for Krzyzewski.

The Blue Devils and Wildcats missed the NCAA Tournament last season, the first missed tournament for Duke since 1994-95 and for Kentucky since 2012-13.

It was the first time the two bluebloods missed the postseason together since 1975-76.

However, the Blue Devils sit as the No. 9 team in the Preseason Associated Press Top-25 Poll while Kentucky falls in right behind Duke at No. 10.

Duke Injury Report vs. Kentucky

After an injury scare with freshman AJ Griffin in the preseason, the White Plains, New York native returned to practice and played in the Blue Devils’ exhibition game against Winston-Salem State.

Duke will be fully healthy and ready to go on Tuesday night against Kentucky.
