Game 28: Duke basketball at Virginia
The Duke Blue Devils will play at the Virginia Cavaliers on Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN) in John Paul Jones Arena.
Overall, Mike Krzyzewski’s Duke basketball teams have performed relatively well against Tony Bennett’s vaunted pack-line defense at Virginia. In the 16 meetings between the Blue Devils and Cavaliers since Bennett took over in 2009-10, Krzyzewski has suffered only four losses (once at home, once in the ACC Tournament, and twice in Charlottesville).
That seems impressive, considering the Cavaliers have finished No. 1 in the ACC standings five times under Bennett while Krzyzewski’s Blue Devils haven’t done so once during that span.
With this predicted season sweep over Virginia, Coach K would finish 14-4 against the potential top-dog ACC coach next year, Tony Bennett.
Predicted final score: Duke 68, Virginia 63
The Blue Devils improve to 24-4 overall (14-3 ACC) on the season.
