Portland Trail Blazers waive Duke basketball alum Quinn Cook
On Saturday, the Portland Trail Blazers announced that Quinn Cook would not be on their 2021-22 roster. This news came after the 6-foot-1, 180-pound point guard saw action in two preseason games earlier this month, averaging 3.5 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 0.5 assists in 13.3 minutes per outing.
If the 28-year-old fails to find a new landing spot in the league, this will mark the first season since his first year out of Duke that he does not play in at least one NBA game in the regular season.

Cook, who went undrafted out of college after famously captaining the 2014-15 Blue Devils to the program’s fifth national championship as a senior, has played in 188 games in the NBA, averaging 6.4 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists across his five-year career. He has been a reserve for two title teams: the 2017-18 Golden State Warriors and 2019-20 Los Angeles Lakers.
