The Duke basketball program extended an offer to 5-star power forward Kyle Filipowski.

One of the hottest prospects on the recruiting trail over the early summer evaluation period is four-star power forward Kyle Filipowski, and the Duke basketball program has taken notice.

The Blue Devils are currently hosting the Wilbraham, Massachusetts native on his official visit to Durham. Filipowski arrived on campus without an offer from Duke but quickly received the good news from Jon Scheyer and Mike Krzyzewski.

Also referred to as “Flip”, Filipowski is ranked as a four-star recruit and No. 45 player in the nation, No. 9 power forward in the Class of 2022, and No. 1 player in the state of Massachusetts, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

However, when the next ranking update becomes available, Flip will certainly be elevated to a five-star recruit after his outstanding summer.

The 6-foot-11, 230-pound power forward also holds offers from Ohio State, Syracuse, Indiana, Boston College, Connecticut, Creighton, Georgetown, Illinois, Iowa, Marquette, Maryland, Michigan, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Providence, Purdue, Rutgers, Stanford, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Xavier, and Louisville.

Filipowski has visited Ohio State, Syracuse, and Indiana, in addition to Duke, this summer.

Duke basketball continues to be busy this summer

Since officially being named as the next head coach of the Blue Devils, Jon Scheyer has jumped headfirst into the deep end of the recruiting pool, extending offers to Derek Lively II, Westtown School (Pa.) five-star center, Dariq Whitehead, Montverde (Fla.) five-star small forward, Mark Mitchell, Sunrise Christian (Kan.) five-star small forward, JJ Starling, La Lumiere (Ind.) four-star point guard, and Anthony Black, Coppell (Texas) four-star combo guard.

Adding Kyle Filipowski to that list only enhances the chances Scheyer brings a loaded class to Duke in his first year as the lead recruiter after Krzyzewski departs.
