9. Duke basketball recruiting prospect Greg Jackson

  • 6-foot-9, 210 pounds
  • No. 30 overall on the 247Sports 2023 Composite

On Sunday, Lou Bezjak of The State Newspaper reported on Twitter that Ridge View (S.C.) four-star power forward Greg Jackson will be taking unofficial visits to both Duke and NC State on Monday. Apparently, the Columbia native plans to then check out the nearby South Carolina campus on Tuesday before heading back to the North State next week to see the UNC facilities.

Jackson’s mixtapes scream potential NCAA greatness, meaning the Blue Devils ought to be hoping that the fearsome forward enjoys his trip to Durham.

Power. Aggression. Length. Agility. Ability. Shiftiness. Those six words, in addition to his Duke basketball visit, pretty much sum up the reasoning for placing Jackson a bit higher than his ranking would suggest he should be on this list.

True, his outside shot comes with a couple of noticeable kinks. And his ballhandling might need some significant sharpening. But all in all, his light feet for his position and ferocious play on both ends of the floors seem worthy of a Duke basketball offer.

Entering last week, Jackson already boasted offers from Clemson, South Carolina, and Wake Forest. Then soon after the open-contact period was underway, the likes of UNC, LSU, Syracuse, and Tennessee added their names to that list.
