10. Duke basketball recruiting prospect Jeremy Fears

  • Point guard
  • 6-foot-1, 165 pounds
  • No. 23 overall on the 247Sports 2023 Recruit Rankings

Another popular 2023 prospect these past several days is La Lumiere (Ind.) four-star point guard Jeremy Fears.

The Twitter account of Fear’s high school team listed all these schools that reached out to him just within the first two days of the open-contact period: Arizona State, Auburn, Cincinnati, DePaul, Duke, Florida, George Washington, Gonzaga, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Memphis, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Purdue, South Carolina, and UConn.

The reason for so much attention coming from coast to coast? Well, Travis Branham of 247Sports implied just before the open-contact period began that Fears’ lofty status as a “true point guard” in the class should act as a magnet to big-name recruiters:

"“A 6-foot-1, 165-pound floor general who is tough, competitive, and one of the best facilitators in the class. He has outstanding vision, feel and is a pesky on-ball defender.”"

Yup, Fears just might quite nicely fit the Duke basketball mold.
