11. Duke basketball recruiting prospect Taylor Bowen

  • Small forward
  • 6-foot-8, 195 pounds
  • No. 23 overall on the 247Sports 2023 Composite

On the first day that college coaches could call rising high school juniors, Brewster (N.H.) small forward Taylor Bowen seemed to possess one of the busiest phones in the 2023 class.

According to a tweet that day from Pro Insight director of scouting Andrew Slater, the long-limbed five-star heard from Arkansas, Cincinnati, College of Charleston, Dayton, Duke, Georgia, George Washington, Iowa, Kansas, LaSalle, Marquette, Northwestern, Penn State, Xavier, UConn, USC, and Yale.

After watching him in action against fellow top-tier prospects earlier this month, Eric Bossi of 247Sports dissected Bowen’s strengths:

"“Bowen is a long and lean athlete who plays with lots of energy and versatility. Big wing, small-ball four, it doesn’t really matter because he fits both roles. He was finishing lobs, draining threes, and seemed to have a lot of fun competing.”"

Looks like a potential fun fit in Durham. And in the video at the top of the page here, he sure sounds like a smart kid.
