A Duke basketball forward made a swift decision on his future plans.

It was a quick stay in the transfer portal for former Duke basketball forward Henry Coleman, who made a decision on his next destination.

After one season in Durham with the Blue Devils, Coleman will head south to College Station, Texas, joining head coach Buzz Willams and the Texas A&M Aggies.

The Richmond, Virginia native looked to be a great three- or four-year player for Duke in his freshman season as the 6-foot-7 forward showed flashes of potential in his limited minutes. But his leadership, on and off the court, was invaluable.

Coleman averaged just 5.0 minutes per game as well as 1.1 points and 1.4 rebounds.

Texas A&M struggled this past season with an 8-10 (2-8 SEC) record and the Aggies have not made the NCAA Tournament since the 2017-18 season when the program advanced to the Sweet 16.

Henry Coleman entered Duke as a four-star prospect, according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, and the No. 55 prospect in the Class of 2020, No. 9 power forward, and No. 3 player in the state of Virginia.

Duke basketball forward knew playing time would be limited

As a freshman, Henry Coleman was buried on the depth chart behind fellow star sophomore Matthew Hurt as well as freshmen Mark Williams and Jalen Johnson, while he was still on the team, among others.

Things most likely would not have changed in his second season in Durham as Duke is reloading with another powerful recruiting class headlined by forwards Paolo Banchero and Adrian Griffin Jr., in addition to Marquette graduate transfer Theo John.

The Blue Devils are also in the thick of the recruiting race for Patrick Baldwin Jr., another five-star prospect in the Class of 2021.

Some NBA Draft evaluators see Henry Coleman as a second-round pick once his college career comes to a close as he will certainly make a major impact in College Station.
