Ranking Duke basketball’s NBA players this season: No. 8 Grayson Allen

  • Age: 25
  • Current team: Memphis Grizzlies (31-30)
  • Games played this season: 48
  • Games started: 36
  • Season averages: 11.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.2 blocks
  • Shooting percentages: 42.3 from the field, 39.6 beyond the arc, 86.2 from the foul line

In terms of climbs on this ranking from last season’s version, Grayson Allen’s 10-spot jump ranks No. 2 behind the 12-spot jump of the next fella here. He’s averaging double-digit points for the first time since going No. 21 overall at the 2018 NBA Draft; furthermore, he’s averaging 1.3 steals and only 1.4 turnovers per 36 minutes.

True, the former four-year Duke basketball gem and 2015 National Championship Game hero has been a bit cold as of late, shooting a combined 7-for-30 from downtown between the Memphis Grizzlies’ past six games. However, considering his eight 20-plus point totals this season plus his persistently dogged efforts on both ends of the floor, it’s obvious Allen’s stock is on the rise.
