Ranking Duke basketball’s NBA players this season: No. 9 Wendell Carter Jr.

  • Age: 22
  • Current team: Orlando Magic (19-43)
  • Games played this season: 48
  • Games started: 38
  • Season averages: 11.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.7 steals, 0.8 blocks
  • Shooting percentages: 52.5 from the field, 33.3 beyond the arc, 72.9 from the foul line

In what was one of the most notable moves from the trade deadline, the Chicago Bulls sent former Duke basketball one-and-done Wendell Carter Jr. to the Orlando Magic in an exchange that involved All-Star center Nikola Vucevic plus a couple of other players and some future draft picks.

And Carter seems to be adjusting well to the move. The former No. 7 overall draft pick from 2018 is averaging 13.3 points and 8.9 boards across the 16 games he’s played thus far for the Magic.

However, as is the case with several other guys on this list, the reason Carter does not appear any higher here is that all of his stats this season have come on losing teams.
