A former Duke basketball reserve has found a new and realistic landing spot.
After an underwhelming one season with the Duke basketball program, graduate transfer Patrick Tape has found his new landing spot.
The former Blue Devil reserve has committed to play for San Francisco, according to multiple reports, which is a perfect landing spot given his basketball abilities and high goals in the classroom.
In his one season at Duke, the former Columbia transfer played in 10 games, starting one, while averaging 1.1 points and 1.1 rebounds per game.
Patrick Tape committed to Duke over Syracuse after his graduation from the Ivy League institution but not before some controversy after briefly decommitting from the Blue Devils only to recommit a few days later.

Duke struggled with its frontcourt rotations this season before the late emergence of freshman center Mark Williams, who is primed for a breakout sophomore campaign.
Tape is one of a handful of players to leave Durham after the 2020-21 season as Jordan Goldwire and Jaemyn Brakefield have also entered the transfer portal while freshman guard DJ Steward declared for the 2021 NBA Draft.
There is an expectation that more roster changes are coming for the Blue Devils this offseason.
Duke basketball forward should thrive at final landing spot
Patrick Tape averaged 11.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest in his final season at Columbia and should thrive back in a mid-major conference.
San Francisco is coming off of an 11-14 (4-9 West Coast Conference) season, but the Dons are usually one of the top teams in the conference that could give Gonzaga trouble during the regular season or conference tournament.

Tape, a hard worker in the classroom, earned a degree in Urban Studies from Columbia and a graduate degree in Management Studies from Duke.
Next season at San Francisco will be the sixth year in college basketball for Patrick Tape.
