Duke basketball Key to Victory No. 4 – Get the Guards Involved Early

The guard position is so important to Duke in each game.

The Blue Devils need their guards of DJ Steward, Jeremy Roach, and Jordan Goldwire to be productive to have a chance at winning each night.

After Steward and Goldwire had sensational performances against Boston College, both had off nights against Louisville while Roach was very efficient in battling foul trouble.

Duke elevates to another level when those guards are playing well on the floor, and the Blue Devils are a tough team to beat when shots are falling from the perimeter thanks to those three players.

Each guard Duke puts on the floor on Thursday night cannot just thrive on one side of the court. It needs to be a two-way effort as the Blue Devils might not want to get into a shootout with Florida State.
